Pedicularis Procera is a virtually undiscovered herb whose sedative and muscle relaxing effects are said to be far greater than valerian. The pedicularis genus is known for these effects. Many people are already familiar with pedicularis densiflora. Procera is a less expensive alternative. It is a curious looking plant with stalks of hundreds of orange-pink flowers stemming from fernlike basal leaves. This forest plant can grow to be five feet in height and is native to the U.S., including parts of the Rocky Mountains.
